About Zungulila

Zungulila Safaris & Tours Limited is a Zambian owned Tour operator that specializes in photographic Safaris. It is registered under the Patents and Companies Registration Authority – PACRA – and also fully compliant and registered with the Ministry of Tourism through the Zambia Tourism Agency -ZTA.

Zungulila Safaris & Tours is made up of very experienced passionate safari guides and management that delivers on time and meets the guests needs.

We are currently operating Mobile Safaris with activities that include Game Drives with our Toyota LandCruisers, Boat Safaris and Fishing as well Walking Safaris.

We can also assist you with high-class transfers from the airport to your destination.

As Zungulila Safaris and Tours, we care not only for our guests, but also for the environment in which we operate through the various conservation projects in partnership with local communities.

Our team

Moses Mwale

Moses Mwale is one of the founders of Zungulila Safaris & Tours, with a lot of experience in the hospitality industry.
He joined this industry way back in 2004, where he worked as a tour guide at Kalimba reptile Park for 2 years.
In 2006, he went to upgrade himself by studying international travel and tourism ICM at Greenwood Institute and obtained a full certificate.

Moses joined Wilderness Safaris in 2008, as a trainee/environmental guide. In 2009, he left Wilderness Safaris and joined Chaminuka nature reserve, where he worked as a senior guide and eventually as a game manager.

Moses decided to leave Chaminuka in May 2016 and went to Green Safaris Ila lodge as a senior guide, where he was eventually promoted to the position of head-guide of Green Safaris. He left Green Safaris, to make his dream come true and now put all his expertise in Zungulila Safaris.

Moses is a qualified level one guide with experience from different National Parks.
His areas of expertise are: walking safaris, game drives, fishing and boating.

Jailos Mwelma

Jailos Mwelma began his journey in 2012 when he started a printing business called Jaitech Company. In 2013 Jailos was hired as a fuel attendant by an oil marketing company called Pegasus Energy, worked for two years and was promoted to position of cashier in 2014. In the year 2016 Jailos went to school and achieved advanced certificate in chartered accounts and was promoted to the position of chief cashier. From 2018 he went to school to achieve diploma in chattered accounts. Currently studying to achieve degree in chattered accounts. 

In 2021 Jailos was so lucky to be among the founding members of Zungulila Safaris & Tours, our mobile safari company who does activities mainly in the Lower Zambezi National Park and Kafue National park.

Jailos is currently one of the shareholders of Zungulila and member of management team. Next to that he is serving as the company’s accountant and reservationist.

Paul Nyandowo

Paul Nyandowo was born in Lusaka, Zambia in 1979, from a family of nine, but after 3 years the family moved to Mugurameno Village of Lower Zambesi National Park.

From 1987 to 1994 Paul did his Mugurameno Basic School. After that he decided to help the family by starting to work in the hospitality industry with Safari Par Excellence, where they trained him from a kitchen porter, to the position of house keeper to a river guide in 1999.

In 2001, Paul decided to leave so that he could further his studies as a chef/driver in Lusaka. After his trainings in 2003, he moved back to Mugurameno village and joined Conservation Lower Zambezi and Royal Zambezi as a river guide. He has a lot of experience in Lower Zambesi National Park and the surrounding.

Since end of 2021, Paul joined Zungulila Safaris & Tours and because of his big experience in Lower Zambezi NP, he is our supervisor for the team. 

John Mwakatala

John Mwakatala started his wildlife safari guiding career way back in 2009 at Chaminuka nature reserve, under supervision of Moses Mwale as park/game manager. He worked hand – in – hand with him for about 7 years.

In 2021 when Zungulila Safaris & Tours was born, the team immediately invited John to join, due to his potential, for he always eagered to work in a National Park.

Upon joining, John was sent for the trainings under Bedrock Africa,  as a wildlife transfer guide (level 3) which he passed the 2022/23 exams. Having gone through, the company enrolled him under the same training school to pursue his second level of guiding.

John is apparently  waiting to sit for his exams, in November before enrolling for his level 1.

Sylvester Sarare

Sylvester Sarare is our youngest 27 years old full time trainee guide. Also him is doing the training school to pursue his second level of guiding very soon in November.

He is born and raised in a family of four brothers and one sister. He finished school completely in 2016 at Lilaba Secondary School with grade 9 and 12 certificate. Sylvester has a keen interest in reading, playing football and importantly spending time with his family.

Sylvester’s goal is to become the best wildlife driving guide with the definitive goal of becoming a professional walking guide. He is “borned to be a guide” and “made for the bush”, as he always said. 

Stan Mwalilanda

Stan Mwalilanda is our reliable driver and mechanic, who was born in Chongwe town in the year 1968. He is a family man with 6 children (4 boys and 2 girls) and his wife.

Stan did his primary and secondary school, before he started helping his uncle to work as a spanner boy. It was from being a spanner boy that Stan developed the interest in mechanics and driving. His full career started in the year 1990 at Chaminuka Nature Reserve. He worked for Chaminuka for a good 27 years ! in the same capacity.

Stan joined Zungulila Safaris and Tours in January 2023.
